Itinerary

  • Morning:

    • Depart early from Kampala and embark on a scenic drive towards Lake Mburo National Park, located in western Uganda. Along the way, enjoy the picturesque views of the countryside, passing through small towns and villages.
    • Arrive at the park’s entrance and check into your lodge before enjoying lunch.
  • Afternoon:

    • After lunch, head out for an exciting game drive through the savannah and woodlands of Lake Mburo National Park. During the game drive, keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife such as zebras, buffaloes, elands, impalas, warthogs, and giraffes. The park is known for its large herds of antelopes, and it is the only park in Uganda with impalas.
    • Visit the salt lick area, where animals often gather, making it a great spot for wildlife viewing.
  • Evening:

    • Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation. Enjoy the serene atmosphere of the park as you watch the sunset over the savannah.

 

Accommodation: Mid-range or luxury lodge in Lake Mburo National Park.

  • Morning:

    • After breakfast, embark on a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This is one of the highlights of the park, offering close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. As you glide along the lake, you’ll have the chance to spot birds such as the African fish eagle, pelicans, cormorants, and the rare shoebill stork.
  • Mid-Morning:

    • After the boat cruise, go on a guided nature walk led by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger. This walk will give you the chance to experience the park on foot, exploring its unique landscapes, learning about the flora and fauna, and possibly spotting animals like zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes at close range.
  • Afternoon:

    • Have lunch at your lodge and then begin the journey back to Kampala. Enjoy the views on your way back, arriving in the evening.

Important Notes:

  • This tour is suitable for all age groups and fitness levels, as the activities are not too strenuous.
  • Don’t forget to bring comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars, and a camera to capture the wildlife and beautiful landscapes.
