Experience the thrill of tracking mountain gorillas in their natural habitat with our 3-day Gorilla Trekking Adventure. This safari will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Alongside the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to observe these gentle giants, you will also enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Uganda’s rainforests and interact with the local Batwa community.

Itinerary

  • Our tour guide will pick you up from your location in Kampala or Entebbe and begin the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes approximately 8-10 hours but offers scenic views of Uganda’s beautiful countryside, rolling hills, and lush landscapes.
  • We will make a stop at the equator for a quick photo opportunity and a lunch break.
  • Continue the drive to Bwindi, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening. You will check in to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

 

Accommodation: Mid-range or luxury lodge, depending on your preference.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience

  • After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority guides on safety and trekking rules.
  • You will then start your trek into the dense forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take between 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.
  • Once you find the gorillas, you will have one magical hour to observe them as they feed, play, and interact with each other.
  • After the trek, you will return to the lodge for a late lunch and some relaxation.
  • In the evening, enjoy a cultural visit to the Batwa community, where you will learn about their ancient lifestyle and traditions.

Day 3: Return to Kampala/Entebbe

  • After breakfast, you will check out and start your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe.
  • We will stop for lunch en route and continue the drive, arriving in the afternoon or evening.
  • Our guide will drop you off at your desired location, marking the end of your Gorilla Trekking Adventure.

Important Notes:

  • Gorilla trekking permits are limited and should be booked in advance.
  • The trek can be physically demanding, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
